Batto Ki Bakwaas
De Diya Na Naam 'Nirbhaya' (by Anamika Joshi)
It took me years of courage to write on this topic… it was as if I had no idea where to start from, how to put things going in my mind into words… and so I started writing from this very thought.
And as I was expecting words kept flowing…
It’s been years of experiencing, listening to, and hearing about various incidences of sexual assault, harassment, and abuse that I feel like, almost nothing has changed.
But yes, I have met people who are more open to listening, sharing their personal stories, understanding the perspective of the other gender and being more sensitive to things that hurt us collectively as a society…
So this piece/poem or whatever you want to call it, is for those who are open to give it a listen… who perhaps will take something away from it and apply it in their everyday lives… This is dedicated to them and to us….

About : BattoKiBakwaas by Anamika Joshi is one of the unconventional hindi poetry channels in India. Once someone said, ‘her poems touch a weird nerve’. Right then she knew, this is what it is going to be about, always. To touch the unspoken, uncomfortable aspects of our lives that have been silent and rooted so deep, that they need to be touched and ruffled through words and discussions.
Today BattoKiBakwaas is a brand in itself and her videos have been cumulatively viewed over 1 billion times. Owing to her unconventional approach style she has been widely covered by popular digital and print media houses like Brut India, Femina India, Mid-day, The Quint, The Better India, Scoopwhoop, Rajasthan Patrika, The New Indian Express, etc.
Anamika Joshi aka Batto stays in Jaipur and has been a businesswoman since 2009 before being a spoken word artist @BattoKiBakwaas.
